Event Cinematography
Preserving the energy, scale, and prestige of your Melbourne events through cinematic storytelling and precise technical execution.
Events are ephemeral by nature, but their impact should be permanent. Whether you are hosting a high-stakes corporate summit in the Melbourne CBD or an exclusive industry gala, the way your event is documented determines how it is remembered by attendees and perceived by those who couldn't attend. At Digadiorcollective, we specialise in non-intrusive, high-fidelity cinematography that captures the authentic atmosphere of the room without disrupting the flow of the occasion.
Our approach to event filming goes beyond simple documentation. We focus on the narrative arc of your event—the anticipation of the arrival, the intensity of the keynote speeches, the candid interactions during networking breaks, and the triumphant conclusion. By blending documentary-style agility with cinema-grade equipment, we ensure that every critical moment is preserved in 4K resolution, providing you with a powerful asset for future marketing, stakeholder reporting, and brand building.
The Production Process
Pre-Event Briefing
We begin with a detailed consultation to map out the event schedule, identify key VIPs, and establish a "must-have" shot list to ensure no critical moment is missed.
On-Site Execution
Our crew operates with discretion, using cinema-grade 4K cameras and professional sound gear to capture a mix of wide atmospheric shots and intimate details.
Post-Production Edit
We curate the raw footage into a cohesive narrative, applying professional colour grading and sound design to match your brand's visual identity.
Review and Delivery
You receive a draft for review, followed by two rounds of refinements to ensure the final cut perfectly aligns with your expectations and goals.
Who This Service Is For
Event cinematography is essential for organisations that need to prove the value of their gatherings or extend the reach of their message. We typically work with corporate entities hosting annual general meetings (AGMs), product launches, and professional conferences where the quality of the visual record reflects the quality of the brand. If your event involves high-profile speakers, complex stage setups, or a curated guest list, professional coverage is a necessity rather than a luxury.
Additionally, we support non-profit organisations and industry associations that require high-quality highlights to attract sponsors for the following year. By showcasing the scale of attendance and the engagement of the participants, these videos become primary tools for fundraising and partnership acquisition. We understand the nuances of Melbourne's corporate culture and the specific requirements of venues within the CBD and surrounding suburbs.
How the Workflow Operates
Our operational philosophy is based on "invisible presence." We avoid bulky equipment that blocks the view of guests or distracts speakers. Instead, we use a streamlined kit consisting of cinema-grade 4K cameras and agile stabilisers. We coordinate closely with your event planner to understand the timing of the agenda, ensuring we are in position before the most important segments begin.
Audio is treated with the same priority as visuals. For event coverage, we don't rely solely on on-camera microphones. We coordinate with the venue's AV team to get a direct feed from the soundboard for speeches, while using ambient microphones to capture the natural energy and "buzz" of the crowd, resulting in a polished, broadcast-quality auditory experience.
Client Preparation and Requirements
To ensure a seamless production, we ask our clients to provide a final run-sheet (agenda) at least 48 hours before the event. This document should include the names of key speakers, the timing of awards or major announcements, and a list of specific individuals who must appear in the final edit. If there are specific brand guidelines regarding colours or logos, these should be shared during the briefing phase.
Crucially, clients are responsible for ensuring that the venue allows professional filming. While we provide guidance, the legal right to film on-site must be secured. For a detailed breakdown of how to handle these requirements, please refer to our guide on on-location shooting, permits, and consents. We also recommend notifying attendees via the invitation that professional filming will be taking place.
Deliverables and Final Output
Upon completion, you will receive a suite of high-definition files tailored for different platforms. The primary deliverable is the Event Highlight Film—a cinematic edit that condenses the event into a high-energy narrative. All files are delivered in MP4 format, ensuring compatibility across all modern devices and platforms. Depending on your needs, we provide versions in 16:9 (for websites and presentations) and 9:16 (for social media stories).
Included in the delivery are the final edited videos, subtitles for accessibility, and a custom thumbnail image for video hosting platforms. While the final edited films are the standard deliverable, raw footage can be provided upon separate agreement and additional storage fees. All final assets are delivered via a secure digital download link.
Timelines and Delivery
We adhere to a strict production schedule to ensure your content is relevant. The first draft of the event highlight film is typically delivered within 7 business days following the event. This allows your team to review the narrative flow and request any necessary adjustments.
Following the review process and the completion of the allowed edit rounds, the final polished version is delivered. The average total delivery time from the event date to the final file is 14 business days. This timeframe ensures that the colour grading and sound mixing are executed to our professional standards without rushing the creative process.
Exclusions and Limitations
To maintain clarity in our agreements, certain services are not included in the standard event cinematography package. We do not provide aerial drone photography or videography, as these require separate certifications and strict regulatory permits which are outside our current service scope. We also do not provide live-streaming services; our focus is on high-end post-produced cinematography rather than real-time broadcast.
Additionally, the cost of venue permits or "location fees" charged by the venue for filming is not included in our production fee and must be settled directly by the client. Any requests for additional edit rounds beyond the two included in our standard rules will be billed at our hourly post-production rate. All terms regarding cancellations and rescheduling are detailed in our terms and conditions.
Pricing Structure and GST
Our pricing is transparent and based on the duration of the shooting shift. We offer half-day and full-day options to accommodate different event scales. All prices are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD). In accordance with Australian tax law, a Goods and Services Tax (GST) of 10% is applied to all services. We provide a detailed invoice showing the price excluding GST and the final amount including GST for your accounting purposes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you provide the equipment or do we need to hire it?
We provide all necessary cinema-grade 4K cameras, lighting, and sound gear. You do not need to hire any equipment; our crew arrives fully equipped to handle the technical requirements of your event.
How do you handle audio for large crowds?
We use a dual-track approach: we take a direct line from the event's audio mixer for clear speech, and we use high-quality ambient microphones to capture the atmosphere and reactions of the audience.
What happens if the event runs overtime?
We understand that events can be unpredictable. If the shooting shift exceeds the agreed time, additional hours will be billed at a pro-rata rate based on the chosen package, agreed upon with the on-site coordinator.
Can you deliver a "teaser" video within 24 hours?
While our standard delivery for the full highlight film is 14 days, we can arrange a short 15-30 second social media teaser for an additional fee, delivered within 24-48 hours of the event.
