Editing & Colour Grading
Transforming raw footage into cinematic narratives through precision cutting and expert colour science. We breathe life into your visuals, ensuring every frame serves your story.
Post-production is where the true magic of filmmaking happens. Whether you have captured stunning visuals on a high-end cinema camera or have a collection of diverse clips from various sources, the editing process is what defines the rhythm, emotion, and clarity of your message. At Digadiorcollective, we treat editing not just as a technical assembly of clips, but as a creative process of discovery. We look for the strongest performances, the most evocative shots, and the precise timing to keep your audience engaged from the first second to the last.
Colour grading is the final, crucial layer of visual storytelling. It is the difference between a video that looks like it was "recorded" and a film that looks "designed." By manipulating hue, saturation, and contrast, we create a specific atmosphere—be it the clinical coldness of a corporate facility or the warm, inviting glow of a lifestyle brand. Our Melbourne-based studio employs professional monitoring to ensure that the colours you see on our screens are exactly what your viewers will experience on their devices, maintaining visual consistency across all platforms.
The Post-Production Workflow
Ingest & Organisation
We securely transfer your raw footage, create organised proxies for efficient editing, and synchronise external audio tracks to ensure a seamless technical foundation.
The Rough Cut
Focusing on structure and pacing, we assemble the "story skeleton." This phase is about narrative flow and selecting high-quality takes before any fine-tuning begins.
Fine Cut & Sound Mix
We refine every transition and integrate sound design, music, and voice-overs. This is where the rhythm is perfected and the emotional beats are locked in.
Colour Grade & Delivery
The final polish. We apply a cohesive colour grade to all clips and export the final masters in the exact formats and resolutions required for your distribution.
Who is this service for?
Our editing and grading services are designed for clients who already possess raw footage but lack the technical tools or the creative eye to polish it. This includes small to medium businesses that have filmed internal content, agencies who have handled the production but need a specialist editor for the final delivery, and independent creators who want their work to have a high-end, commercial aesthetic. If you have a project that feels "almost there" but lacks that professional cinematic sheen, our post-production suite is where your footage comes to be finalised.
How the collaboration works
We begin with a technical audit of your provided materials. Understanding the codec, resolution, and frame rate of your footage is essential to avoid degradation during the process. Once the materials are ingested, we work closely with you through a structured feedback loop. We use a review system where you can provide time-stamped notes on the rough cut. This ensures that the creative direction remains aligned with your vision while we handle the technical execution. Our goal is to reduce the friction between your idea and the final render.
What you need to prepare
To ensure a smooth start and avoid delays, we ask clients to provide the following: a clear brief or a script/storyboard if one exists, the raw footage organised in folders, any specific brand guidelines regarding colours or fonts for graphics, and the high-resolution versions of your logos. If you are providing music, please ensure you have the legal rights to use it or provide us with the specific tracks you have licensed. Clear communication regarding the intended platform (e.g., Instagram vs. Cinema screen) allows us to set the correct project parameters from day one.
Deliverables: What you receive
Upon completion and final approval, you will receive a comprehensive delivery package. This includes the final master film in high-bitrate MP4 format, optimized for the primary platform of your choice. Depending on the agreement, we also provide alternative aspect ratios (such as 9:16 for social media) and a clean version of the video without graphics for future archival use. All deliverables are transferred via a secure cloud link, ensuring no loss in quality during the download process.
Timelines and Delivery
Our standard post-production timeline is designed for precision. After receiving all materials, we typically deliver the first rough cut within 7 business days. Following your feedback and the subsequent rounds of revisions, the final polished version is delivered within 14 business days. These timelines ensure that we have sufficient time for meticulous colour grading and audio balancing, which are often rushed in lower-quality productions. For urgent projects, we can discuss expedited timelines, although these may impact the number of revision rounds available.
What is not included
It is important to note that this specific service covers post-production only. It does not include new filming, drone operations, or on-site direction. We do not provide the original project files (Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve project files) as these contain proprietary workflows and licensed plugins, though the final high-resolution renders are yours. Additionally, the purchase of commercial music licenses is the responsibility of the client, although we can assist in recommending stock libraries that fit your budget and style.
Pricing and GST
Our post-production services are billed on an hourly basis, allowing for flexibility depending on the complexity of the footage and the amount of raw material provided. This ensures you only pay for the actual work required to reach the desired quality. All prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD). In accordance with Australian tax law, a Goods and Services Tax (GST) of 10% is applied to all services. We provide detailed invoices that clearly separate the base cost from the GST component for your accounting and tax reclamation purposes.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between colour correction and colour grading?
Colour correction is the technical process of fixing errors—making sure the whites are white and the skin tones look natural. Colour grading is the creative process of applying a "look" to the film to evoke a certain emotion or style, similar to how a photographer applies a specific aesthetic to their portfolio.
Can you fix footage that was shot with poor lighting?
To a significant extent, yes. While we cannot "create" detail that wasn't captured by the sensor, we can use advanced grading tools to recover shadows, soften harsh highlights, and shift the colour temperature to make the footage look more intentional and professional.
How many rounds of edits are included in the hourly rate?
Our standard workflow includes 2 rounds of revisions. This typically covers one major structural change during the rough cut and one final polish phase. Additional changes beyond this are billed at the standard hourly rate as per our Terms and Conditions.
